NEW to Zeath Gallery this February half term are two artists hailing from the beautiful Trebarwith Strand area. ‘Sam Isaacs’ unique brand of furniture making, which he calls “Reworked”, takes remnants of industrial objects that have come to the end of their useful life, and reworks them to create surprising twists on everyday functional items which are also beautiful objets d’art.

Two of the articles on display are a table lamp made from a 1930’s morse code lamp; and a 5ft wide chandelier created from the glass insulators you would normally find on electricity pylons which will be on display upstairs in Polzeath’s community venue, Tubestation, from the end of February. Once reclaimed and reworked, Sam’s results are about blending function with eye-catching form, and take centre stage in the gallery this season.

Also new to Zeath is artist Richard Muir from Delabole, who takes much of his inspiration from Trebarwith’s beautiful rock formations. Richard works mainly in oils using simple lines and pastel shades to create dramatic effects of light and shadow.

Zeath is also delighted to be exhibiting some of last year’s favourite local artists Andrew Syms; Suki Wapshott; Ness Lannen; Dan Miles and Isabelle Roberts.

Zeath Gallery opens with its latest exhibition on Saturday 11th February. Normal opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and is hosting a number of special events and exhibitions throughout 2012.
